hey at least there’s a risk he could die horribly and painfully in front of a tv audience, i’d certainly tune in for that.
boy bands suck arse and everytone knows it so I think its fair enough to think this guy’s a bastard for getting a corporate sponsored flight into space.
If he has the cash, why not? Both the American and Russian programs are underfunded as is. The Russians are just a bit more Capitalistic than the American program is about this.
Hell, if he can get people to pay for his ride up, more power to him! Just tell me who he gets to pay, I wanna hit them up for a ticket as well!
Let’s see… NASA spends 20 billion dollars to build a space station for the express purpose of doing scientific research. Then it runs so far over budget that they ‘compromise’ by reducing the staff to one so small that basically all it can do is maintain the station and little science will actually be done.
And you’re focusing on a Radio Shack sponsorship to expose waste in the space program?
Lance Bass isn’t the problem. Radio Shack isn’t the problem. NASA is the problem.
I can hardly wait for more corporations to become involved in the space program. Perhaps then it will become efficient and inexpensive, and give us all a chance to do what Lance Bass might get to do.
And I think his going into space will do more for science education and interest in the space program in general than that 20 million bucks would have done had it been spent in any other way.
I can’t agree with you Mr. Stone (do you know John Prine?), two weeks after he’s back all interest in his flight will be diverted to interest in his latest dance step or girlfriend. 20 million bucks invested in scholarships geared toward science would pay dividends long after Lance Bass is on his third comeback tour.
