That sounds awful. And how it’s been every six months or so in NH for the past two years. We’re getting rather sick of reoccuring flooding too. I hope it’s a one time thing for you folks!
Here it’s been a rather damp summer too. We’ve had rain at least 3-4 days a week all month and they’re predicting ran 4 out of the next 7 days, again. This is a lot like the summer of 2000. sigh.

PS - Please, Voldy, let it rain in Tennessee. I had to buy all my winter’s hay (I bought dtriple my usual amount) early because my hay guy hasn’t been able to mow this year for lack of rain. Local folks are selling off their cattle so they don’t have to feed them through the winter.

Now, because of all the sodding rain, some parts of the UK face being out of fresh water because the pumping and purification plants are being flooded out.
Only in England could this happen…#Land of Hope and Glory#…oh never mind

Yeesh, today’s local paper is stating that hundreds of trapped people are being rescued and that hundreds of thousands are without power in central England. It goes on to say that such flooding hasn’t been seen there since 1947.
This one’s more than a gully-washer. Brit Dopers, are you okay?

I’m in the North West of England and we haven’t been hit as hard as some other regions although we have had it pretty bad.
Fortunately my house is on quite high ground so I’m safe from flooding unless it gets to biblical proportions.
Tuesday and it isn’t raining…yet. Matter of fact the yellow thingy is up there smirking

We’re in the West Midlands so we’re quite a long way from any rivers although the canals run through the city where I live but they look to be about normal.
At the beginning of August we were supposed to be going dragonboat racing in Pershore (Worcestershire) but this [YouTube](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zH-GaOJsQk) clip suggests that we’ll be sitting at home instead. The film is taken from the supermarket across the road from the large expanse of playing fields by the leisure centre where we usually have all the teams resting, partying and having a big picnic on the day. Those trees in the distance? That’s the riverbank.

Sorry about that, folks. It was all my fault. I was in London for the past 4 weeks and apparently, the rain loves me. As a matter of fact, the rain thought I was getting home yesterday – it NEVER rains in July in Southern California, but it rained yesterday in anticipation of my return. So, you should have lovely summery weather now and I’m gone. It might take a couple of days for the rain to go away since I’ve left, but when it does, enjoy!

The sky has gone a weird sort of pale blue colour here with fluffy-looking white splotches that move. I don’t trust it.

Todays press tells us that the army is distributing bottled water free to households that are without fresh water and are likely to be for another 2 weeks.
Some supermarkets are also doing the same.
On the other hand there are heartless bastards who are charging £15, about $30, for a bottle of water and there are also people looting abandoned cars and homes.

Just back from our trip to the Peak District and a mixed bag of weather. Quite a bit of sunshine but also plenty of the wet stuff. The worst day was Thursday. We were driving down the A6 south of Buxton (what an excuse for a major road that is !) and it bucketed down so hard that I parked up for 10 minutes waiting for it to stop. Best day Tuesday, brilliant sunshine up in the High Peak and you could see for miles.
