That about sums it up, ignoring any subtleties, such as I would like to believe in the idealized Judeo-Christian God I was raised to believe in since birth. But really, I don’t see any evidence for it, and just wanting it to be so, despite evidence, will not make it so from belief alone; either such an entity exists, or it doesn’t.
But perhaps the universe was created by some entity, for all intents and purposes it is beyond our comprehension. Whether this exists is pretty remote, but even saying this hypothetical entity brought forth our universe as we now know it, I still can’t rule out it’s not the Judeo-Christian God, or something else entirely. If it is the Christian God, then the Bible was way off, or very misinterpreted.
Anyhow, I feel a bit more settled because of this thread, in that, it doesn’t really matter much, until I see a “burning bush”, so to speak; I’m pretty agnostic/atheist on the matter.
