Nader’s attributing to skill what is actually just a side benefit of speaking your mind with no filter. Biden gets the same benefit of the doubt. A scripted politician gets criticized for any misstep. An unfiltered, unrehearsed politician gets to correct themselves. IT’s like anything in life, there are tradeoffs. Stick to your script and the cost of going off script is great. Don’t use a script and you say more dumb stuff, but it’s easier to mitigate the consequences of saying dumb stuff. ---

Donald Trump is the GOP nominee, not in any twisted format of the unholy alliance they’ve kept together for decades (social conservatives, big business, religious right, small government, gun right activists) does that make any sense. And I will laugh in your face if for a sentence you blame any part of this trainwreck on liberal voters. The middle class is disappearing and for decades Consevative voters have been told that personal financial failure is the result of laziness and government has no business interfering in an individual’s "picking themselves up by the bootstraps’. But increasing numbers of middle class people are hurting and are tired of being told they are lazy by the people they voted into office. Trump is a fool, but he isn’t blaming Americans for their misfortune, and that’s enough. ---

Even in Nader’s youth, it was rude to make personal remarks to a female stranger in public (or to a male stranger, for that matter, but most such incidents of rudeness involved men making remarks to women).
