There have been good responses to the few threads I’ve initiated, but I think many folks don’t read the whole thread, but rather just jump on. I haven’t been provacative, but I figured some of my comments would get a response or two. I guess this takes time. ---

It doesn’t matter if you know the backstory. We talk about minutae–a LOT. We also talk about hugely distressing or joyful news, but really all we do is talk. Think of it as the buzz that goes around before the English teacher starts class–that’s all it is. Really. Anyone is welcome. (and yes, we WILL talk about you if you leave. Just kidding!) 😉 ---

Although I have no concrete evidence of this, there have been a couple of pile-ons in the Pit that I felt seemed to have been coordinated (at least loosely) beforehand. Other than that, I’m not aware of any clique. If they exist and I knew what it took to be accepted other than my own customary behavior and interests, I probably wouldn’t want to bother. Heck, I’ve been posting in the MMP for at least three years and I still get lost with **LiLi** ’s husbands… And in case anybody hadn’t noticed, the running joke about “mumpers” being “The Cool Kids” is totally tongue-in-cheek. If “cool” means “exclusive”, we’re hotter’n the insides of a steamboat at full throttle. I’ll sit with anyone who practices good personal hygiene and doesn’t want to get in my pants. If they want to get in my pants and are nice about it, I won’t be _sitting!_ 😉 ---
