well, since I can’t search on MMP, can I slightly hijack and ask what this is all about? I know it means “monday morning post” (right?) but that’s all I know. Where does this come from? Is it from blogs or myspace, or something else? ---

[/QUOTE] Hi **squeegee** , here’s [the glossary from ATMB](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=320298); it includes the definition of the MMP. It’s been going on every week for more than 5 years IIRC. If you look for the thread in MPSIMS that contains MMP in the title, you’ll find us. [Here’s this week’s MMP.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=460962). Even though it starts with one topic, there are usually multiple conversations going on, some non sequiturs, and general chaos. Some days it sounds like a whole bunch of blogs blended together. Some people read every post, some just read the OP and then a few of the latest posts. (Of course, some people avoid it like the plague; it’s not everyone’s cuppa.) There are really no rules. Except that we’re nice, dammit! ---

I didn’t realize it started here on the SDMB – I hadn’t noticed “MMP” threads until just a month or two ago, and I’ve been coming here forever, so I figured it was some external meme that showed up.
