I wonder why the cat keeps eating her vomit. Does cat vomit taste good? Is this something we are all missing out on? She seemed angry when I went to clean it up the last time, but I don’t want a bunch of little grease spots all over the carpeting. ---

The cardinality of the Borel sigma algebra is c. The cardinality of the Cantor set is c. The Cantor set is measurable and has measure 0. The collection of all measurable sets has cardinality 2^c. Every subset of the Cantor set is measurable with measure zero, and the collection of subsets of the Cantor set has cardinality 2^c. The power set of the real line has cardinality 2^c. The collection of subsets of the real line can be put in 1-1 correspondence with the collection of measurable sets, even though not all subsets of the real line are measurable. Every Borel set is measurable, but not every measurable set is Borel. The construction of a non-measurable set requires the Axiom of Choice or one of its equivalents. ---
