Ha! You beat me to it. I have to walk about 8 steps from the bedroom to the office room, and sometimes there’s as much as a five-cat pileup on the thoroughfare (we actually refer to it that way–that’s why your comment amused me. )
Once or twice a week I have to drive 38 miles each way in to the office, but it’s a reverse commute so aside from the distance, it’s not bad at all.
I have to leave half an hour before I am due at work. I drive 4 miles, have to go through six traffic lights, two of which are at major intersections! Sometimes all of the traffic lights are red when I get to them. Those days I am only ten minutes early for work!
Going home, though, it is a bit easier, since there is pretty much no traffic.
Did you hear about the lady that walked the beaches offering to cell batteries to folks who had portable radios/boomboxes (this is vey old, really)?
She sells C cells by the seashore.
But more seriously, it sometimes takes me 3 minutes to get out of my side street onto the 2 lane road that goes to my office, 1.3 miles and 2 minutes away. That’s my only gripe.
My commute is 5 minutes. However, it is at 515 in the am since I have to be at work at 530 in the am. My only rant is about a particular intersection. I often hit it when the light has been green and it always start to turn red as I pass through it. It is a very wide intersection, but I’m dreading when the city needs even more money and they install red light cameras there.
