You know what? It’s a curving, eight-foot-wide path. You can’t see very far ahead. There are people walking. Many people walking. Many have dogs. Many have small children. All of them will be hurt very, very badly if you buzz around a corner in top gear and HIT THEM WITH YOUR GODDAMN RACING BIKE. So DON’T RACE YOUR GODDAMN RACING BIKE on the GODDAMN CURVY TRAIL. The plural of “cyclist” must be “snatch”. A snatch of cyclists. Because they’re total cunts when they’re racing in groups. ---

Every time I think my upstairs neighbors have hit a new low, they surprise me more. Once again, despite repeated attempts of explaining to them, Mrs. Idiot decided to take a bath, after first filling the tub. The problem appears to be, other than her short to medium term memory issues, that the plumbers were working on installing that tub on a Monday morning, or something, and the overflow is not connected to anything but the ceiling of my bathroom Want to guess how many gallons a 175lb dumb blond displaces? ---

I was going to see Monty Python Live (almost) today. I was in the theater waiting for it. Blank screen. Apparently, Livestream wasn’t working too well. The theater didn’t get the feed (at least as of about 45 minutes into it, which is when I walked out). Other would-be watchers reported that Twitter reports were coming in from many different countries saying the same thing. I can go back Tuesday or Wednesday, sayeth the theater manager, but to do that I’ll have to flex my time at work, which is about 60 miles away from the theater, my home being not quite halfway between the two locations. ---

A word of advice to couples. If you decided that reading aloud erotic fan fiction with your boyfriend is a nice way to spend an afternoon, and you know full well that it is _erotic_ fan fiction, _don’t punch him in the nuts every time he gets a boner_. Or you suspect him of getting a boner, because the scene is heating up. In fact, unless you’re damn sure that your boyfriend is into that kind of thing, _don’t punch him in the nuts at all!_ And especially don’t expect him to just playfully laugh it off. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need some ice. :mad: ---

Yeah, I’m still mad over here about doctors holding birth control hostage in return for medical tests I don’t need. Look, I don’t have HPV, I won’t be getting HPV, I have zero family history of any cancer, I have such a negligible risk for cervical cancer that I really do not appreciate you people trying to give me a pap smear every damn year when every medical organization I’ve ever looked up does not recommend anything of the sort. And of course there’s no discussion. No discussion from a doctor themselves telling me about the pros and cons of pap smears and letting me have informed consent, just a stony glare that I have to have it, period, end of story, or I need to leave. These people are doctors and they’re hiding the facts from me and denying me medical consultation based on my refusal of a supposedly voluntary screening. I mean hell, the first time I went to a doctor for birth control pills, I was a virgin, 17, and menstruating at the time and she was pressuring me to do a pap smear when every single thing contraindicated doing the screen. I went to a doctor for an ear infection once and he asked about the last time I had a pap smear. Seriously?! The fuck does that have to do with what I’m here for?! That’s how rabid they are about this shit. I can’t wait until the USA finally makes birth control available over the counter like a bunch of other countries and I can stop being badgered all the time. ---

A hearty “piss off” to the anti-vaccine group Nurses Against Mandatory Vaccines, who is planning a campaign of letters, phone calls, and visits to my college to demand that I be fired for “persecuting” them by correcting their anti-vaccine lies and pointing out to them that a job is actually not a legal right and the hospitals for which they work have every right to demand that they receive vaccines. A bigger and heartier “go fuck yourselves” to the nurse members of that group who WORK WITH NEWBORNS AND PREEMIES and who talk about lying about their religious beliefs to avoid vaccination. The biggest and loudest condemnation to the nurse members of that group who equate having to wear masks if they refuse to vaccinate to Jews HAVING TO WEAR YELLOW STARS. Words cannot express my repugnance at you, your group, your beliefs and lies, and your plan to endanger your patients (and attempt to end my employment). ---

I pit animal abusers. [Silver](http://i1371.photobucket.com/albums/ag293/Emily_Jobson/10559936_10152323122322620_6155529943650324558_n_zpse56055ad.jpg) arrived at our house late Friday night. We have been a foster home for a number of rescue dogs over the years but haven’t been taking any for a few years because of reasons. We agreed to take Silver because we have a lot of experience with Huskys and have a very well trained, patient Husky ourselves ([Khuno](http://i1371.photobucket.com/albums/ag293/Emily_Jobson/10387158_10152237783822620_5830649638531462423_o_zpsde9655ae.jpg), who was also a rescue dog - the one that didn’t get away 🙂 ) that is good for example setting. Silver is about five, and originally came from a puppy mill in California. She made her way north to British Columbia and went through about four homes before a rescue organization (run by my sister) found her and got her away from a neglectful owner. That rescue didn’t have the space or resources for her, so we agreed to take her, and she’s now with us in Calgary. I have **never** worked with such a scared, broken animal. It’s heartbreaking. She has been starved and beaten so much that touching her, even coming towards her, turns her in to a shaking mess. She’ll run in to a corner or her kennel and shivers when I approach. She turns her head away when I try to give her a pat. She won’t play, she won’t eat if anyone is near her, she rarely lets her guard down. She observes how we treat Khuno with love, how he trusts us, and wants to join in, but is so uncertain because of five years of a horrible life that she just stands there looking at us and cries. I cry for her every time I’m finally able to get close and give her really good, kind, loving pets because when I do, she won’t look me in the eyes. She’s a broken dog. I can not believe human beings can do this to an animal.
