Dear Husband, NO, we are NOT adding a 6 hr detour to the TN house to tomorrow’s 14 hr drive to the Catskills on the off chance that a piece of FAA paperwork is in the mail there. N. O. **NO** And don’t pout. Your poor planning is not my problem. If you had suggested this 3 days ago I might have made it work. Asking about it less than 24 hrs before we’re were planning to leave? Huh. I guess I wasn’t clear enough. The courthouse is too far from home to drive every day, so I’m staying in a hotel. I don’t know how you got sequestered out of that, but whatever. And you are right. Nobody ever gets called for federal jury duty ever. Especially not in border states or states with Native American Reservations. It just never happens. After this is over, I should start an “ask the person who served on federal jury duty” thread, because nobody else on the Dope has ever done such a thing. Dumbass ---

I think it is great that Bob can spew his nastiness, and so do the vast majority of the military people I am in regular contact with. When I joined the Dope, I was scolded because I didn’t use my words. Now I’m getting scolded because I use extra words in people’s minds. It is not a question of how rare it is to get called for federal jury duty at all. The question is how an ex mitary, ex drug addict biker chick with a soft side for rescuing animals who got married to her dream man moving to Texas with a PTSD dude, who may or may not kill people at any time, could ever pass voie dire. ---

All in how you dress, groom and answer the quesions. Nothing wrong with being ex military, as long as it wasn’t a less than honorable discharge. Nothing wrong with being an ex addict, as long as you don’t have a felony record with a revolving door to jail and rehab. Nothing wrong with being a biker chick, if your current grooming is neat and clean and the tattoos are able to be covered so they don’t show up. Nothing wrong with getting married and moving to another state, I did jury duty in Virginia 8 months after moving down with an ex-fiancee that I never got married to. People move all the time for school, people or jobs. And nobody has to know about PTSD dude if he is not you or your new husband. They rarely ask about neighbors. ---

I have to admit, that made me laugh. But the real rarity, all joking aside, is being on a federal jury that gets _sequestered_. I presume. I’ve never been selected to serve on a jury. Still, **flatlined** , you totally SHOULD an “ask the Sequestered Federal Juror” thread. With any luck (and the wide and varied experiences of the Doper community at large mitigate in favor of such an outcome) a former sequestered federal juror will show up to take it over. Seriously, Monday’s coming. I hope there’s less cause for crankiness next week. Make sure you pack extra batteries, just in case, umm, _deliberations_ go on longer than anticipated. ---
