Tepco, the abbreviation for Tokyo Electric Power Company, is one of the most powerful energy companies in the world. He is also a symbol of the Japanese economic miracle after the Second World War. The group was founded in the ’50s by the merger of several regional electricity supplier. Tepco later served crucial in the rise of Japan for the world’s leading nuclear nation with. 1971, with Unit I of the damaged power plant Fukushima Japan, the first nuclear reactor to power. A technical tour de force in the eyes of many Japanese, who hailed the new power plant at the time. Meanwhile, the company operates a total of 17 reactors in Japan. This includes the largest nuclear power plant in the world: Kashiwazki Kariwa. Together, the Tepcos facilities in Japan about as much electricity as all nuclear power plants in Germany put together. Finally, the Group recorded more than 50,000 employees generated revenue from the equivalent of almost 40 billion euros. This Tepco is one of the five largest energy companies in the world. ---

Greenpeace did their own measurements three weeks ago, well outside the evacuation zone, and declared it a 7 French and US scientists analyzing air samples declared cores melted and leaking, weeks ago, from just the data they gathered halfway around the world. Despite the utter nonsense and bullshit the media is feeding you, nuclear science isn’t some mystery, and nuclear scientists can tell a lot about what is going on by the isotopes leaking from the reactors. Not that you would know any of this from watching CNN ---

In the ineffable and interesting manner of internet, I checked the news feeds, looking for some rad reporting to rant about, and the first click I find one comment on the story and that comment mentions a book from 2005 about THIS EXACT SORT OF STORY. A work of fiction, that is now available for free. So now I’m reading this novel instead of ranting. Sadly, there will be plenty of time for ranting to come. For a long tome to come. Fuck. I keep hoping that somehow I’m going to be wrong. But noooo, the fuck up just continues. ---
