I disagree with **Lizard** , but I can see what bugs him, I think. No, I donā€™t believe that anyone should go to jail for making rape porn that isnā€™t actually rape. No, I donā€™t believe that any of the stuff you find on commercial web sites is actually rape, for the reasons spelled out clearly by a number of posters. But what little Iā€™ve seen of the ā€˜rape pornā€™ genre seems to have little in common with the bodice-ripper rape fantasy, and more in common with _simulating_ the brutalized, scared-shitless feel of an actual rape. For instance, one of the photos I saw had the woman made up so that she looked like she was bleeding all over herself from being slugged in the mouth. When I say ā€œIā€™m not sure Iā€™d feel comfortable around anyone who wanted to watch such portrayals,ā€ this is the sort of thing Iā€™m talking about. I doubt that having a few teeth loosened by a fist to the face is part of many womenā€™s rape fantasies, and I certainly wouldnā€™t want it to be part of my own. I donā€™t want to outlaw the images, anymore than I _could_ outlaw the fantasies. People can do what they want, as long as nobodyā€™s harmed by it. But Iā€™m perfectly comfortable with saying **I** find fantasies and images this extreme to be repulsive, and the idea that someone likes them creeps me out. ---

Exactly, RTF. From what I am gathering, there are two different directions these ā€œfantasiesā€ can go - the ā€œOh no, you evil pirate, donā€™t you _ravish_ me!ā€ and then the vile, painful depictions you describe above. One is pretty standard, the other is pretty creepy (IMO). I too would get the heebie-geebies from something that was depicted as painful, scary, bloody - yikes. Creepy. Major creepy. But ā€œbodice rippersā€? Maybe a bit silly to some, but pretty standard stuff. Did you ever see the silent film ā€œThe Shiekā€ with Rudolph Valentino? I believe it had the same sort of bodice ripper ā€œthemeā€ in it. (Itā€™s been a while since Iā€™ve seen the film.)
