He said “I’m not feeling well”? I’m no expert on the dynamics of rape, but that seems like a rather odd thing to say when you’re forcibly jamming your pork sword into an old woman. ---

“Funny” and “awful” aren’t opposites. It’s a floor wax AND a dessert topping! It does strike me as a bit weird, though extremely fortuitous, that he “ **rolled over** and died”. One might think that, as it was clearly rather sudden, he might have skipped the “rolled over” part and gone straight to “and died.” THAT would have been awful minus the funny, because then his victim would possibly have died too, or at the least had an awfully traumatic time of it trapped under a dead, obese rapist. ---

No. For it to be really karma, there should have been pain and suffering involved. Dying doing what you love best is not exactly what most people would call punishment. Anyway, I never liked the idea of karma. If a bus hits me while I cross the street today, someone might think I must have raped an old lady or something to earn such a fate. ---

She, as a survivor, is going to need a lot of therapy to get past this. At 77, its possible that she may die before she is ever able to get past this. There is no justice to this story, and if one was looking for a good reason to doubt the presence of any higher power, this would be a good example. ---

I’ve been through Tivoli a dozen times en route to our place in Rockport. It’s one of the tiniest, most non-descript towns you could ever imagine. Everyone there would have to know everyone else. How is it someone who lives close enough that they can ride their bike in thinks they won’t be recognized after they rape a resident?
