I used to attract a lot of attention, then I gained a lot of weight when I was pregnant, but more than that, went through a really rough time and felt horrible about myself.
In the past two years, I have hit a pretty big upswing in how I feel about myself (thank you , exercise), lost a lot of weight and feel pretty good. Not every day, sometimes I feel like a 2, but I think most days with some time on my hair and makeup, I can hit an eight, eight and a half, the right clothes and the body brings it closer to a nine… maybe…
Most of the comments i get are on my smile and attitude, so I think that makes the difference…? Keep in mind, I work in a very man-heavy world, so that may skew my idea on how I look.

FTR, I have looked up some of you as you have ripped yourselves apart, and everyone I looked up (Spoons, Sunspace, Robot Arm, KennerTheGreat, Rushgeekgirl to name a few) are being FAR too hard on yourselves

Totally agree with this BTW - I love it when the guy just shaves it. When a guy suits the shaved head look it is HOT!

I picked an ‘8’ – but it depends (in my perception) if I’m well-groomed and dressed (the latter my Proustian sense of fashion-attractiveness correlation) and have been keeping the beer gut off. Probably could go down to a ‘4’ when ill-shaved and Orson Welles-jowled (like today) and dressed like the Dude from that movie. Don’t know which I’ll be on any day or month.

Sorry! I didn’t mean it to be snarky! I meant I think pretty much all the people who have rated themselves “below average” are all better looking than you are rating yourselves, based on the portrait gallery photos. And I was at Walmart today, so that’s my cite.

1. A beautiful woman with a lovely face, but really quite overweight. Add to that I’m starting to lose the weight, and realizing that as the fat which used to fill the wrinkles out disperses, I’m going to age really fast.
I’ve gone from being carded when I bought cigarettes -\> to having a wattle, in only six months. This sucks.

Maybe. Being fat makes you look old in other ways. I think you might be pleasantly surprised.
I’ve gone from 280 a little less than two years ago to 230 and still dropping now. I look - this is not my opinion, but the unsolicited opinion of a lot of people, many with little reason to placate my ego - substantially YOUNGER than I used to. I was asked by one guy “Hey, where’s your fat older brother?”
I’m not bragging. I rated myself a 4. (I’m still overweight, and my looks are just okay even when I’m at ideal weight; I have great eyes and I’m tall, but a poor chin.) But two years ago I was a 2 or a 3. I was 37 and looked 41; now I’m 39 and look 37. Losing weight has made a dramatic improvement in my apparent age.

I think I’m a 6, and a lot of that is just youth more than features.
