# Ratio replies/views in SD forums

A quick glance at any forum shows that the ratio “replies to views” usually varies from 1/10 to 1/50.
Hence a query:
What makes a good question: number of replies, number of views or ratio replies/views ?

What makes a good General Question is having a **factual** answer.
What makes an IMHO topic is asking for opinions.

A good question is not based on the number of replies or views. If you ask, “Who produces the Trailblazer?” The answer would be “Chevy”. End of discussion. But that wouldn’t make it a bad question because it was answered quickly with say maybe 3 replies and 10 views. Simply put, a good question is going to consist of detail, and easy to read, coherent sentences.
Maybe you meant what makes a good thread? In that case, replies and the number of views may indicate that it’s a good/popular thread with good content (even bad, but good bad).
