Very sad to hear this - their concerts were terrific. Apparently he was fighting two different kinds of cancer.

Lovely set of pipes. Here he is covering “[Remember](https://youtu.be/Xf1CUlUrH94?si=CBer9uwrLsaUymCa),” one of my favorite Harry Nilsson songs.

Yeah, I was following this closely. Very sad. I’ve seen The Mavericks three times, and have been a fan since the 90s. They put on a tremendous show, and Malo was always terrific… great voice and seemed to always have fun on stage.

While the other band members are very talented, I don’t see how the band can continue without Malo. He was the heart and soul of the group.

I would definitely have seen them again in the next couple of years if he could have pulled through. He’ll be missed.

Great band. I saw one of his last performances opening for Dwight Yoakam.
