Without jumping the gun too much, I think you can expect it to be about as fast as we were right before The Crash. It’s basically the old server with a few tweaks, running software that requires a little more power than the old one. Ergo, about the same speed in total, _ceteris paribus_. ---

When the board goes down for installation of the new(er) server, does this mean we’ll lose all posts made on that day? Or will Jerry do a backup before the switcheroo? ---

I got cable, and I use it through AOL too (I think that’s what you were talking about). And like I said, it definitely feels faster than before. ---

Well, it’s faster for me so far. ADSL connection. But generally, the board speed isn’t altered much by fast connections. The huge demand is the cap on the speed. I doubt you can load threads faster on DSL or cable than on, say, an ISDN line, except in ideal conditions (read: middle of the night or something). ---
