July of 2008?!? So, a woman gets raped and she waits a full year, and then files a civil suit? Not criminal charges, but she is looking for money? And, ohbytheway, the guy just happens to be a multimillionaire quarterback? No way. But, hey, why not take a chance at getting the money? Just like that Duke stripper, you don’t get in trouble for making up false rape allegations, so make up your best lie! ---

From the quoted text, this is not a criminal complaint, but a civil one. So the police (and District Attorneys, etc.) aren’t involved at all. It’s a civil suit, basically similar to any suit about someone owing money to someone else. It’s up to the plaintiff to investigate and prove. ---

I would assume that there is at least going to be a doctor visit. On the other hand, it’s probably going to result in a nuisance value settlement even if there’s no evidence at all.
