Re: the closed thread about a toe being served in a drink. I have been a resident of Alaska for 53 years, and have been to just about every bar in the state. I can assure you that this is either an urban legend, or an embellished legend about days past (which I do not dispute). There is currently no bar in Alaska that practices such nonsense, although at one time there certainly could have been. “nuff said.”

If you keep reading [the thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=379605&highlight=drink+alaska), you’ll see that people corrected the original poster in that it is a bar in Yukon Territory, _not_ Alaska.
