# re:why does people clink their glasses together after a toast?

I’ve heard from my food & nutrition teacher that the missing part of a meal is sound, you have taste, sight, smell and touch, but sound is missing from the meal, so people clink their glasses right before they eat. The source came from a video. That might be the answer.

But there’s lots of sound at a meal, unless you stuff cotton in your ears. I don’t buy it.

:smack: good point haha i didn’t really bother to think a lot about that, I remembered studying it for a test from my teacher so it just popped up
