Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time books have kept me interested for the last year. And happily so! They’re a little long winded, and there is an average of 700 pages per but you simply must read Eye of the World, the first book! It’s breathtaking.

I just finished Neil Gaiman’s latest masterpiece, Stardust. By the way, read it! He also did the americanization for Mononoke Hime

The Myst trilogy is surprisingly fantastic! Especially for being a video game book.

Bored of the Rings is the funniest thing I’ve read since Guy Stuff!

Hope this helps!

It’s already been mentioned, but I’ll second [A Confederacy of Dunces](http://shop.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=22I0ME0B54&mscssid=0BFNDG0CVQS12P0Q00JP42CB5H8P9D8D&srefer=&isbn=0517122707). This link will take you to the B&N page with some reviews of the story. Damned funny book.

For those interested in Mathmatics

“Fermat’s Last Theorem”
and
“The Code Book”

both by Simon Singh. Both very good reads, but could lose youy if you dont like the subject matter.
