I think Cecil is Una. All the times he said Una was performing an experiment was just a ruse to throw us off the scent. ---

Why doesn’t he post here anymore? He used to do it fairly often. I used to get a kick out of the title under his name “Supreme Master” or something. ---

Cecil Adams spelled backwards is Licec Smada. Reverse the order and you have Smada Licec. Smada Licec is Bulgarian slang for “well-hung genius”. Rumor has it that there is an Eastern European restaurant on North Clark Street in Chicago and, at the back table, there is a regular - a strange man who likes pie and pontificates on many subjects. He is revered, but he also known to expose himself to unsuspecting patrons and cackle, “Hello Opal!” ---

There’s a space in my memory. No, I don’t like to talk about it, and yet, I must. On the darkest of days, with the sun setting as if blood were dripping across the horizon, I recall the horrific walks down those ancient Chicago streets, ostensibly to get to Oak Park for a parky’s, but somehow losing my way, seeing the faces fill the windows… Horrible, degenerate faces. And I wake at night screaming now. There’s a missing hour. All I recall is the beginning, and I know that the fates have been merciful by devouring the remaining vestiges of memory. Wikipedia says this about another famous person. “… a cultural icon, is a brand name and trademark. . . The name was first developed. . . as a way to give a personalized response to. . . questions. The name. . . was selected because it was viewed as a cheery, all-American name.” So it’s obvious. Cecil is [Betty Crocker](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betty_Crocker). ---
