I don’t think these are photo shopped. I’ve seen similar warning signs in my local area. My personal favorite… This property is protected 24/7 By security cameras and 20 or more wolves Yup, that drives home the point and made me smile. 😉 I wouldn’t say these are hilarious. We came across [this sign](https://gekkermoethetnietworden.wordpress.com/2013/10/03/forensisch-onderzoek/) [**arguably NSFW** - depending where you work] in a square in Ghent. Regularly placed signs along the side of the square. Just in case you missed the first one, I guess. It’s the equality aspect of the sign that particularly appeals to me. I think it was our next visited which coincided with Ghent winning the Belgian Football League, and, as the evening wore on and the good people of the town celebrated, such signs were widely ignored, to the extent that some of the narrower alleyways were impassable. I haven’t been to Belgium for far too long. j ---

I’ve seen a road sign [like this](https://www.roadtrafficsigns.com/Bike-Sign/Bicycle-Hazard-Symbol-Sign/SKU-K-6729.aspx?engine=googlebase&keyword=Bicycle+Hazard+Symbol&skuid=K-6729-EG-24x24-M1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpqfPlJ3o5QIVx5-zCh2xLwyYEAQYAyABEgI4P_D_BwE) on an underpass where the drainage grate was installed with the bars running parallel to the road, so bike wheels would get stuck in it. ---

There’s nothing better than a picture to drive home a message. Doesn’t matter what language someone speaks. They’ll understand that sign. Road signs for deer are similar. Everyone understands a picture of a deer and that they can dart out onto the highway. Car wrecks after hitting deer are a problem in my state. ---

[Warning signs at dangerous intersections](http://amble.com/ambler/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Panama-Sign.jpg) in Panama can be quite graphic about the possible consequences. I’ve also seen “wildlife crossing” signs featuring a car crashing headfirst into a coati, but couldn’t find an image. ---

The big sign directing you onto the Massachusetts Turnpike in Boston used to have a buckle-bearing pilgrim hat (symbol of the Pike) and an arrow pointing the way. My hometown has taken to putting up “Roadwork Ahead” signs with a humourous twist. One of our major bridges was down to two lanes from four all summer, and the warning sign said “Road Work Ahead - If only we had a swear jar.” But even better, where they were working on the water and sewer system they had this sign: [Road Work Ahead - No ninja turtles will be harmed."](https://www.reddit.com/r/saskatoon/comments/den213/i_can_finally_rest_easy_knowing/) ---
