My husband and I were listening to the truly classic _White and Nerdy_ and we decided to check out the source material - Chamillionaire’s _Ridin’ Dirty_. It’s pretty nice rap in my ignorant opinion, but we couldn’t make out what the hell he was talking about. So, we opened up Urban Dictionary, the _Ridin’ Dirty_ lyrics, and got to translating. Turns out, this song is truly…special. No, really. You have to read on. Our protagonist is one Mr Chamillionaire. He’s driving along with a loaded gun on the seat next to him. Incidentally, he’s also masturbating. And that’s not all! Mr Chamillionaire has been drinking whisky and gin, is currently smoking pot, and may have cocaine on his lap. His girlfriend, meanwhile, is sitting by him, playing video games, seemingly unconcerned about the current fragility of her existence. As he swerves around, music blaring from his car’s speakers, Mr Chamillionaire’s erratic driving grabs the attention of the police. They flash their headlights at him, hoping he’ll stop. He responds by firing his gun into the air (so far as I can make out) and, in fact, “dodges 'em like fuck 'em all”. Mr C’s explanation for the cops chasing him? Racial profiling. Of COURSE! What ELSE could it have been? :smack: … Got any prize specimens to share? ---

Don’t make too many oak handguns anymore 🙂 My submission: Eazy E “Gangsta Beat For The Street” A great song (great by Eazy-E standards, anyway) off the last album he made before he died. The main chorus is “guaranteed to hear something sweet / gangsta beat for the street” (again, this is Eazy at his most prolific). However, on Eazy’s last verse, he says “being a gangsta is so neat / yeah, gangsta beat for the street” Yes, I imagine it would be pretty neat Mr E… ---

It just makes more sense to me that he is talking about his gun, since really holding tight to a steering wheel is not really ‘gangsta’. But I don’t really know anything about guns, so I guess I could be wrong. As for the OP’s comment that racial profiling is not the reason the rapper is being stopped, he may be commenting on just general experience. Meaning he may have already felt what it feels like to be stopped for DWB. ---

Heh, I’d say most of my music qualifies or is simplistic at best. It’s a song about _“adult” chatrooms_, for crying out loud! It’s probably translated from Italian, though, so you have to cut it some slack. 😉 And while I was looking up that, I remembered the song [Space Invaders](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=133KutDLcM8) ([lyrical mastery](http://www.stlyrics.com/songs/h/hitnhide19516/spaceinvaders1051825.html)). I do like that the group Hit ‘n’ Hide put apostrophes on both sides on the “n”, though (and no, I don’t know what circle of Hell that hairstyle came from). I love industrial music (quite a bit of which is German), but some of the lyrics don’t translate too well. The band “The Gothsicles” wrote a song about this phenomenon, called [“English License”](http://www.thegothsicles.com/lyrics.html#english_license): “For crimes of crappy lyrics that don’t make any sense Your judgment has been made and it decrees that forth hence Project Pitchfork, E-Craft, and Funker Vogt Your English License has been revoked!” 😃 ---

The thing that really bugs me about that “fourth thing” line is the line before, where he was “looking at all the life…there were birds and hills and rocks and things…” Rocks are not alive!!! ---
