Like I said, it’s a regional thing. Over here in God’s Country (NYC and environs) Mary, Marry and Merry sound very, very different from each other. In other places, not so much. ---

I’m from the North East of England, and Harry is pronounced with a hard a, as in ‘hat’. As is ‘bath’. I certainly say it that way. I guess if someone said “Hairy Potter” or “Prince Hairy” I would know what they meant. It would be a real affectation for me to say that, though. ---

Both \*\*Porcupine Pie \*\*and the \*\*Crunchy Granola Suite \*\*are deliberately goofy songs, which therefor do not qualify for stupid status. That is all. ---

Among all its bad lyrics (it’s in the top ten among rock groups in this category) - Golden Earring’s _She Flies On Strange Wings_ stands out: _Lonely is the night without you Just as lonely as a shepherd without sheep_ Romantic imagery at its finest. ---
