I always have to laugh when I pass _Cosmoprof_ here in Pasadena. **_Cosmoprof_, saving the universe from unruly frosh!** I have no idea what the business really is. ---

Don’t know if it still exists or not…but there used to be a chain of drug stores in Colorado named **Skagg Drugs**. Skag was a user name for heroin. I always got a kick out of that. ---

I was at a house in one of those new developments. Most of the time I lived there you couldn’t even get a pizza delivered. Then some place called “Roadrunner Pizza” opened up. Beaver, Colorado boasts **Beaver Liquors**. They market on it too, you should see the T-shirts they sell. One of my more memorable conversations with my mother was when my brother and I tried to explain to her why these T-shirts were popular with the college crowd. “Gee, everyone wears these T-shirts, that must be a good liquor store! Maybe I should buy one to bring home to your Aunt Eileen?” “Ummm, Mom?” ---

There’s a construction company in eastern North Carolina called **Mr. Beaver Home Construction**. Not all that unfortunate, until you hear their advertising jingle on television– _Mr. Beaver does it all for you-ooo…_ ---

One of the adjuncts to training ofparamedics is the need for realistic scenarios, complete with casualty simulation: “patients” made up with simulated fractures, lacerations, burns etc. The preferred supplier of the necessities of cas-sim in South Austrlia is a pharmacy located at **Dragon Street, Hillcrest**. The additional irony here is that until recently, Hillcrest was the location of a major psychiatric hospital. ---

Cherry Insurance. A prosperous business in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, where I used to live. Cherry was the family name, so I suppose it seemed logical to them. But a photo of the shop front once appeared in the late, lamented National Lampoon magazine’s True Facts page under the heading, “You want to insure your what?” Same magazine, under the heading, “Who Named the Business?” a photo of a shop front that said: Preparation H Construction Co. Pile Driving Specialists. ---

Here in sunny Victoria, Australia is the small town of Buchan (that’s Buck-en). Not much there, just the Buchan General Store, the Buchan pub, the Buchan police station, and the tourist attraction, the Buchan caves. Hey, it makes me giggle. ---
