The lack of an alien warship crash landing in the South Pacific in 1999 significantly reduces the potential of giant aliens attempting to sterilize the planet in the next year or two. ---

I’m also happy that governments aren’t opting for the death penalty for lesser and lesser crimes in order to execute people for the purpose harvesting their organs for transplants. Oh, wait, I goofed on that one, too. ---

I’m happy that violent blood sports don’t dominate the airwaves and that corporations aren’t more powerful than governments. BTW I hope Houston Beats NY in the finals Go Jonathan E!! I’m Ecstatic that Delorians haven’t become the vehical of choice for youthful looking time travellers. Overjoyed that cat’s and dogs weren’t wiped out by a plague in the 1990s leading us to keep oversized super intellegent Apes around. I’m greatful that the Eugenics war never occured and Kahn and his supermen never escaped Earth in 1997. I’m also pretty darned happy I don’t have to Leave Earth on a converted WWII Japanese Battleship with only a year to get to some far off planet and back to save the Earth from deady radioactive bombs hurled by the Damned Gamalons… ---

I’m glad that I’m able to actually leave the matrix, should I ever choose to. I’m also glad that I’m not pumped full of intelligent viruses that although highly beneficial to me also produce a world in which I’ll keel over and die suddenly around the age of 35 (from [the Child Garden](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Child_Garden) , in case you haven’t read it). ---
