Rebirth of Audio Cassettes?

Cassettes? Seriously?

If I went to a concert, and the band were selling tapes rather than CDs after the show, I would write them off as hipster douchebags trying too hard to be ironic, and never see them again.

Except a lot of underground cassette releases don’t sell 1000 units, they sell more like 100. So if 100 cassettes cost $150 to make (made up figure), that’s $600 cheaper than ordering the 1000 CDs and having 900 of them sit in your closet forever.

You and me both. I just wrote a screed on Winehouse on my FaceBook page about how even though there were some dynamics on the trap drums and bass, everything just seemed compressed as shit, and, basically, fake. Contrast to a heavy-produced Allen Toussaint album from the 1970s – at least they’s have some real instruments, with all the commercial BS going on.

Especially if they had tshirts like this.
