The discussion of this great movie in another thread led me to wonder, if this would be remade today, who should we cast? I am sure there is enough talent in Hollywood to carry this off, but who would be in the remake? ---

Damn – that cast looks pretty damned distinguished. Maybe that should be watched. In fact it’s on my list now. I was only coming in with some joke answers, like Kirk Douglas, but that’d be pretty weak. Peter Fonda – that’s a good joke answer, I think. ---

They should represent various types of everyman, and “celebrity” actors would detract from that a little imo. ---

Well, really, most roles benefit from having unknown actors, all else being equal. But that tends to rather cut short threads. And wasn’t Peter Fonda already well-known at the time of the original? ---
