I’m not looking for anything complicated, just something that I can use to draw up home projects, i.e., a workbench and render to 3-D. Ones I’ve looked at online make things too complicated and difficult to dimension (SketchGoogle, for example). I don’t want to design a house, just something simple.

Well, you could try [brl-cad](http://brlcad.org/), but it probably won’t be any easier to use than the tools you already looked at.
