I read several threads discussing the absorbancy of bath towels, the implications of using fabric softener, and even their construction, but no recommendations on which brands or manufacturers are best.

Any suggestions for purchasing a good absorbant bath towel?

Land’s End Egyptian Cotton gets my vote. Also, check out the Body Shop microfiber hair towel. This is tremendously helpful if you want to cut down on the time needed to blow dry your hair.
