> Seriously, you will definitely be able to play it on your machine and it will look and run good. For those of you unfamiliar with it, it is basically Quake 3 (best game ever) made to run in a web browser. Oh, and it’s free. I was part of the closed beta a year ago and it is a lot better now. There are a lot of people playing and the matches are a blast, especially Clan Arena. The skill matching still needs some work but that is also vastly improved. If your internet sucks you can even play against bots.

Wait, is that like… a browser based Open Arena?

I’m never gonna get anything done… (Unreal/Quake-likes are the only FPS games I really like to play multi)

Yeah, it’s a real distraction. I’m a teacher and I am having a hard time limiting my playing to my lunch hour and after school. But it’s a great distraction. I highly recommend it.

[No One Lives Forever 2](http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/noonelivesforever2asihw/review.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=gssummary&tag=summary;read-review) should run on your machine. It runs on my netbook.

Ooohh, if No One Lives Forever 2 runs on that, then I would highly highly highly encourage it! In fact, get them both.

I’ll second NOLF2 if you can find a Legal Download for it.

I’ve been trying but have been unable to find it From the Usual online stores like Steam, GOG, etc as My old Disk (Which I’ve had since 2003) is really starting to get scratched, and I find it pain as I’ve gotten used to the convenience of Download able Games.

There are some truly excellent old FPS games. Two of my favourites are [Clive Barker’s Undying](http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/clivebarkersundying/index.html?tag=result;title;0) and [Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast](http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/jediknight2jedioutcast/index.html?tag=result;title;0).

These are IMO the very best story-based FPS games from the early 2000s (around 2002 I think). I pull them out and play through them every one or two years, and I am regularly surprised at how well they are aging.

Also in the story-based FPS line, the original [Deus Ex](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deus_ex) (2000) is apparently available on Steam.

If you do go for Deus Ex (which I highly recommend) be sure to check out this page: [Deus Ex on modern systems](http://kentie.net/article/dxguide/index.htm).

I strongly recommend you check out [Can You Run It](http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/intro.aspx). It’s been accurate for me (so far). The only problem with it is that it only checks new-ish games, most of which you won’t be able to run - but it does have Half Life 2/Orange Box.

I’ll second _Deus Ex_, which is a brilliant game for which I’m still awaiting a sequel :p, and I’ll add you could try the first _Call of Duty_ game which is A) available on Steam and B) _might_ run on your system (it requires 32MB of Graphics Ram).

The first _Medal of Honour_ game for PC (_Medal of Honour: Allied Assault_) should run; it only needs 16MB of Graphics RAM. I believe it’s available in a Deluxe Edition with a few of the other MoH games, too, if that helps…

Thanks everyone. I went and got _Deus Ex_ from Steam and so far it works perfectly fine. I haven’t seen or heard any glitches. I downloaded the program that **Bogeyman** linked to, but I haven’t installed it yet. I may not need to.

There are a shit-ton of older FPSs you might be able to run on GameTap, including _Deus Ex_, _Call of Duty 2_, _Far Cry_ and _Deus Ex: Invisible War_ (the not-as-good sequel).

See the list here: [http://www.gametap.com/video-games/Shooter-games-40.html](http://www.gametap.com/video-games/Shooter-games-40.html)
