I second _Gilead_. It’s my favourite novel ever. Marilynne Robinson’s writing is… you know, I can’t describe it. Stunning sounds dumb. So does perfect.

_Disgrace_ is also very good.

Dalva and The Road Home by Jim Harrison. Great books. IMO.
