I second Gilead. It’s my favourite novel ever. Marilynne Robinson’s writing is… you know, I can’t describe it. Stunning sounds dumb. So does perfect.
Disgrace is also very good.
Dalva and The Road Home by Jim Harrison. Great books. IMO.
