My face is feeling the effects of the cold weather, sitting in the car with the heat on, having my wooly cap pulled low. Can anyone reccomend a moisturiser thats not too… girly? Nothing scented. I’ve tried Nivea for men, but no joy. ---

E45 products are good, unscented, and have a pretty gender-neutral branding if that’s an issue. ---

Clinique for Men makes a product called Maximum Hydrator. Shit is top notch I tells you. Perfect guy stuff, but be warned it expensive as all getout. ---

Do you shave as God intended you to do so, with shaving soap and a brush? Switch to these things, and you may find a happy side effect of a nice bit of moisturizing. Especially if you’ve been using an electric razor. Those are an abomination that, among other injustices, dry you out. Using a shaving brush is quite manly. ---

I suffer from an affliction I call “wintertime ashy elbows.” There’s a new product I use that’s technically a body wash, but I use it as a lotion. One of the resident cheap bastids chiming in here. I use a moisturizer made by [Suave](http://www.suave.com/html/products/productlist.asp?resultPage=lotion). Yep, the folks who make cheap shampoos, conditioners and hand lotions. It works fine. ---

Actually, it depends on where you are applying the moisturizer. A product meant for hands/knuckles/feet/elbows might can cause dermatitis on one’s facial skin, since this skin is likely more sensitive and a greasy formulation can plug the pores. For example, slathering onto your face a moisturizer that’s meant for cow udders could cause an outbreak. FYI: Facial moisturizers are typically far more expensive than general moisturizers. ---

The body shop sells a [Men’s Face Protector](http://www.thebodyshop.com/bodyshop/browse/product_detail.jsp?productId=prod170086&categoryId=cat30098), which has both a sunscreen and a windscreen in it. The tube’s a little pricey, I know, but you don’t need very much at all per application, so it lasts a long time. I used to swear by it when I lived in Boston.
