# Recommend a martial art.

It sounds like you’re doing all the right things.

I will warn you about the next major hurdle that you will come across after you find a good school: don’t stop going to class. If you skip one class, it gets easier to skip two. Before you know it, you’ve missed a week, and especially when you’re beginning, you kind of have to go back and relearn what you forgot in just a week’s time.

The most successful students really make a commitment to showing up all the time. Of course vacations and work get in the way sometimes, but people who get the most out of martial arts class treat it like going to work: it is just something you _have_ to do. But it is fun work. And the real reward is in sticking with it.
