**Mindhunter** (Netflix) was excellent as well. Really great acting by the array of serial killers.

**Marcella** (Netflix) also very watchable. Especially Season 1.

Another season-long arc show from the BBC: _Baptiste_. It’s a 2019 production that was shown in 6 episodes on _Masterpiece Mystery_.

I was very impressed by this; it’s set mainly in Amsterdam but has an international cast (and is mostly in English with subtitles for some scenes with other languages). The only two performers I recognized are English: Tom Hollander and Anastasia Hille, both of whom have been in some of the shows mentioned upthread.

Very twisty and well-written.

> Baptiste is a British TV drama starring Tchéky Karyo as Julien Baptiste, a character that originated in the series The Missing. The spinoff is produced by Two Brothers Pictures and distributed worldwide by their parent company All3Media. The first series, set in Amsterdam, was broadcast on BBC One starting in February 2019 and is written by Harry and Jack Williams, who also wrote The Missing. In the United States, it was broadcast by PBS on its series Masterpiece beginning on 12 April 2020. Th...

One series that we really liked that you _might_ like is [Trapped](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trapped_(Icelandic_TV_series)). It’s an Icelandic mystery series. The dialog is in Icelandic but the subtitles are good. It’s not everybodys cup o’ tea, but we loved it.

Glad to see that ‘Unforgotten’ is on for another season.

We also watched a lot of _Silent Witness_ but it’s not a season long story arc sorta show.

Just remembered _Loch Ness_. I liked it quite a bit. Interesting to see a show set in a town that I only knew because of, well, the monster. And it took me more than one episode to realize the policewoman was Lydia from _Breaking Bad_.

Yeesh. AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO REMEMBSRS HELEN MIRREN IN PRIME SUSPECT? That series was brilliant. _So were many other mystery series that could have shown_ on _Masterpiece Theatre_, but were not, as long as _Mystery!_ was there to grab them.

> Your daughter may also like [Line of Duty](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Line_of_Duty). Also British and has story arcs that extend across the entire series as well as being very measured and self-contained within each season. Has a higher body count, which doesn’t always make for good TV, especially in British cop shows, but it makes up for it in really intricate plotting.

Sorry to bump this thread, but just wanted to say thanks for recommending this show. I’ve been binge-watching it since you mentioned it! It’s pretty great.
