# Recommend an online free poker room

I’d like to learn poker. Recommend me a good online poker room. It must allow free play so I can practice without losing actual money.

Others will be along with recommendations.

I’ll note that it isn’t really poker unless all players have “skin in the game”. Cashless games are notorious for goofy play.

There is SDMB game every Thursday at 10:05 pm ET at PokerStars.

Follow Post #8 in [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=703876) if you would like to join. Its not a crazy game where everyone goes all in on the first hand. We only play for Pride and we play as if we were playing for money.

I believe ALL the major poker sites have free games. Pokerstars has the best software and interface, IMHO.
