# Recommend invoicing, A/R software (preferably free)

Though I’ll consider “cheap” if it’s really amazing software (cheap being in the neighborhood of $20 or so).

Basically looking for a simple way to create invoices and track payments for a (very) small freelance business. I’ve tried QuickBooks and it was way more complicated than I needed. I couldn’t figure out what half the functions were for. Also it was expensive. I mostly just need a way to keep track of what I’m owed, when, and by whom.

Have you tried [freshbooks.com](http://freshbooks.com)? They charge for snail mail invoice sending, but if you don’t use that, it’s free.
