A very good friend and her husband will be celebrating the first anniversary of their marriage soon. I’d like to give them a good book on origami. Hardback, high quality, etc. Any recommendations?
:d&r:
Brilliant Origami by David Brill would be a possibility, though I don’t know if it’s available in hardcover. It’s also decidedly not for beginners, but some of the models are really spectacular, including the St. George and Dragon on the cover.
Or perhaps something by Tomoko Fuse.
You might look for a book on Tatoh, Tatoh is the broader art of wrapping. Such as using paper or cloth to wrap cards or presents.
Actually, Tatoh or tatogami predates origami and usually refers to the wrapping which kimono are stored. But it also can refer to the red cloth or paper wrapping one uses with temiyage or omiyage(thank you gifts).
There’s also Kirigami (the link is a hardcover copy).
Then follow it up with this
Interesting thoughts!
