I tend to think that most of you aren’t giving seven year olds enough credit…

I’d offer:

Groundhog Day \<-- seriously
Star Wars trilogy \<-- I’m male, but saw SW in the theater at 7 and LOVED IT
Superman
Back to the Future
The Wedding Singer \<-- maybe? depending?
You get the point…

I found it a bit surprising but our son enjoyed [Father Goose](http://http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058092/) were Cary Grant is a reluctant plane-spotter in WWII and has to keep a school teacher and her young girl students safe.

Groundhog Day \<-- watched this already, she hated it as much as I did.
Star Wars trilogy \<-- I saw this at 7, but my daughter scares easily and we tried watching it once. Vader scared the crap out of her.
Superman\<–already watched it, she liked it OK but the beginning was too slow moving and she lost interest. She liked Spider-Man much better. (I know, why is the Green Goblin OK and Darth Vader isn’t? Beats me.)
Back to the Future \<\<saw it a few weeks ago, she liked it.
The Wedding Singer \<-- I don’t know—I don’t recall how much adult humor was in this. She knows Adam Sandler from 50 First Dates, which she liked.

Implied affairs, fleeting violence, occasional profanity and an instance of rough language. More appropriate for a teen.

[The Borrowers](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118755/)
[Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines or How I Flew from London to Paris in 25 hours 11 minutes](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059797/)
[Monte Carlo or Bust (aka Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies)](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064688/)
[The Great Race](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059243/) (if either of you can sit still for nearly three hours ;))

I was eight when I first saw [Silver Streak](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075223/) and [Smokey and the Bandit](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076729/); 10 for [Every Which Way But Loose](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077523/).

> How about [_“Fly Away Home”_](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116329/) ? A young girl loses her mother (early in the film, may be a bit traumatic), and in turn adopts a gaggle of geese.

It might be corny but it really happened! The movie stays really close to the actual story up until the last half hour or so.
