Recommend my next CD purchase

Try Sleepytime Gorilla Museum for hard rock/metal. Check out the album “Grand Opening and Closing”

Try Animal Collective for cool weird indy rock. “Feels” is probably their most accesable album.

Try The Firey Furnaces for crazy carnival rock. “Blueberry Boat” is genius, but “EP” is probably a better place to start.

And seriously, check out Husker Du (recommended earlier).

Or Captain Beefhart, but I am not sure anyone really “likes” his music.

Also, going back to older music. The Velvet Vnderground. All 4 of the first albums are great in different ways.

**Wilco’s ** newest album, “Sky Blue Sky”, is one of the best albums I’ve heard in a long time, and Jeff Tweedy’s lyrics are always great. These are a little less cryptic than other offerings (go w/ “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot” for that).

Also, you can’t go wrong w/ The Flaming Lips. Check out “At War with the Mystics.”

The Mountain Goats and The Decemberists are both notable for nice simple low-fi music with literate lyrics.
