So I’ve been watching the BBC series Jeeves and Wooster lately, with Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, and I love the theme music, which surprises me. I generally find I really don’t like jazz very much, but this song is just so damn catchy. And it doesn’t really sound like what I think of when I think of “jazz.” I wonder if it’s a time period thing - the theme really seems to fit the era in my mind. So I’m kind of interested in getting ahold of some “real” music that has sort of the same sound. Anyway, fill in the blank: If you like the Jeeves & Wooster theme, you’d also like \_\_\_\_\_\_\_. ---

Sadly I cannot help, but I wondered if you’d mind awfully, Smeggers old chap, if I sort of hopped onto the back of your thread to add that I’m rather intrigued by the piano music Peter plays in Family Guy in the episode where he learns he’s good at the piano when he’s drunk. He plays all sorts of popular tunes in a spellbindingly beautiful way, not least the X-Files, and I’d really like to know… ah, excuse me, there’s a policeman over there and no-one’s knocked his hat off yet… ---

EDIT: I didn’t notice this was a zombie thread. The term that Youtube suggested to me is “gypsy jazz”. Some of the results for that search seemed vaguely similar.
