[Here](http://www.werewolf-movies.com/)’s a site that lists quite a few werewolf movies, as well as movies with appearances of werewolves.

Of the ones not mentioned in the OP, I’d recommend _Dog Soldiers_; it’s directed by Neil Marshall, who also did _The Descent_ as well as the “Blackwater” episode of _Game of Thrones_, so you know what you’re in for. I assume the _Underworld_ series hasn’t been mentioned 'cause it’s too obvious?

Going back to the mid-eighties, you can check out _Silver Bullet_ if you want Stephen King’s take on it, though that movie is very much of its time (Corey Haim is the little-kid star).

Not a movie, but if you want a fairly fresh take on the werewolf / vampires legend, I would recommend _[The Last Werewolf](http://www.amazon.com/The-Last-Werewolf-Glen-Duncan/dp/0307595080/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1345419845&sr=8-1&keywords=last+werewolf)_ by Glen Duncan.

Being Human’s been mentioned a few times, and I have to say, no one does a werewolf transformation scene the way George in the UK version does. No one.

C’mon now, that’s the best you can do in this really modern world of ours? 🙂

Also, I’ll recommend “Dog Soldiers” again.

You should also follow Oz’s arc through several seasons of **Buffy the Vampire Slayer**.

More votes for Ginger Snaps and Dog Soldiers.

Another vote for **Silver Bullet**. Loads of cheesy fun, good “jump scenes,” some genuine atmosphere and scares, kids in peril, and Gary Busey totally hamming it up. A guilty pleasure for me.

The first three \*Underworld \*films have an interesting take on werewolves (although they call them _lycans_) and their internecine conflict with vampires.

Sometimes a movie’s title really works against it. To me the title sounded like a young girl seeking revenge on someone. I’ll have to check it out.

Wurlwiff is on Netflix, too. It’s one of my favorite MST3Ks.

Boy – no one mentions the Universal films that starred Lon Chaney Jr. as Lawrence Talbot. Tough crowd! I’ll grant you that they weren’t great, but they pretty much established the werewolf mythos as most people understand it today.
One weird and offbeat werewolf film is **The Beast Must Die!** – a horror/mystery in which you aren’t told who the werewolf is, and have to figure it out. The film actually took a break near the climax to give the audience a chance to work it out. it had Peter Cushing and Charles Gray among the stars and suspects:

Stephen King’s **Silver Bullet** had a dopey-looking werewolf, but was interesting, nonetheless. Based on his book _Cycle of the Werewolf_

> Silver Bullet is a 1985 American horror thriller film based on the 1983 Stephen King novella Cycle of the Werewolf. It stars Gary Busey, Everett McGill, and Corey Haim, with Megan Follows, Terry O'Quinn, Lawrence Tierney, Bill Smitrovich, Kent Broadhurst, David Hart, and James Gammon in supporting roles. The film is directed by Dan Attias, written by King and produced by Martha De Laurentiis.

Guys would probably not have this problem. 😃

Ginger Snaps is an excellent movie, handicapped by an almost invisible budget. It would otherwise be the best werewolf movie ever made. As it is, it has to settle for second place.

Yes, **Ginger Snaps** and **Ginger Snaps II** were good. I never saw the third one.
