Hopefully my fellow dopers can help my friends out some. We have been playing Battlefield 1942 for a LONG time… there’s about 6 of us, and we get together online about 1-2 times a week for an hour or two to burn off energy from the workday, etc. We run our own private server, and have gone through most of the mods -\> Desert Combat, DCX, Etc. It’s basically an excuse to get on teamspeak and trash talk each other. However, we’ve gotten to the point where it’s getting a bit boring as we all know just about every trick now. I went to Best Buy over the weekend to see if we can find something new to get out of the rut, but it appears that FPS games are out of style now. So, hopefully there’s someone out there that can make some recommendations to look for something new. I want to avoid MMPORGS -\> Honestly, none of us have the time to really commit to something like those, and we’re rarely ALL available at the same time. Basically something we can jump in on when we have a few min and just relax with. Your suggestions are appreciated!! ---

What about Battlefield 2142? I’ve been playing that and I really enjoy it. Also, Quake Wars is coming out soon (July I think), that’s going to be a good one or so I hear. ---

UT2004 or BF2. I would say BF2142 but it’s a bit too far removed from BF1942. UT2004 has tons of gameplay possibilities and mods.
