Bump, because I want to know what Sampiro decided to watch.
National Treasure , one and two
Seabiscuit
Declan
The Fam & I watched “Forbidden Kingdom” last night and had a blast comparing it to Star Wars and the Wizard of Oz, etc. (Very much follows the archetypical “A Young Man Goes on a Quest” storyline).
Anyway, I thought it was decent family fare, not stupid by any means, and quite pretty to look at as well. The martial arts aspects of it were more like choreography than gratuitous violence (for the most part).
Seconded. You too busy watching movies, Sam?
See post # 23 for what he decided to rent.

A decision was made before the bulk of the suggestions? Should’ve had the thread closed at that point.
The Black Stallion is a great ‘boy and his horse’ movie.
Joe Vs. The Volcano is a modern fairy tale with some language but pretty OK.
I’m just making suggestions as other people might need ideas.
Chariots of Fire
No sex, not even kissing. Not a single “bad” word. No violence.
And somehow it won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1983.
And how did they go over?
