# Recommendation: For Ailing PC's - A Different Type of Pit: The PC Pitstop

The PC’s on our network here at the office were all running a little sluggish. I bouced a few things off my F/E and after eliminating the some of the more common problems, he recommended we run a diagnostic test on all devices at [PC Pitstop.com](http://www.pcpitstop.com).

I was a little leary at first, even after reading their:

_Automated tests will get your PC running fast, stable and secure for free. The diagnostic tests are **safe, passive** evaluations of your system…_

I figured what the hell. Most of the people here already had gator / claria spyware running and didn’t realize it, so I figured I’d give it a try.

I gave them my e-mail in the quick registration process (I haven’t gotten any spam since registering 2 weeks ago) and politely clicked no on the Symanec PCanywhere offer.

The tests are pretty good, they diagnose:[ul]  
[li]System Processor,[/li][li]Memory,[/li][li]Hard Disc Drive,[/li][li]Video Graphics Controller, [/li][li]Internet,[/li][li]Operating System, and[/li][li]Security[/ul] and recommend solutions for any problems they discover.[/li]  
They didn’t market any products on me and didn’t install any spyware.

Just a suggestion.

I’ve used it several times and have it bookmarked. Excellent utility, and I have not seen any negative effects. No spam, and I found it to be quite helpful.
