They don’t seem to be do much studying or research, do they? Just sort of posing and lying around.

Of course, good computer scientists and physicists spend a lot of time apparently gazing into space… while they are actually thinking. Not easy to capture visually…

Busy print.

I think I might not put other paintings around it.

How about some decorative sconces or plaques. Keep it simple. And to scale.

Who is the figure in the helmet supposed to be? Seems a bit irrelevent in a philosophical debate?

I’ve found another title for that painting: “Aspasia Conversing with Socrates and Alcibiades.” [Alcibiades](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcibiades) was an Athenian general and statesman, and was a student of Socrates’.

One obvious possibility would be Raphael’s _Parnassus_, which he painted on the adjacent wall of the Stanza della Segnatura.

Or one of the many works inspired by them, such as Delaroche’s Hémicycle in the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

[Les Oréades - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Or%C3%A9ades#/media/File:William-Adolphe_Bouguereau_-_Les_Or%C3%A9ades.jpg) - NOTE: this painting is NSFW.

In counterpoint to the intellect celebrated in "School of Athens, " this one wallows in more sensual aspects of existence providing necessary balance to consideration of the human condition.
