Please be quiet a moment and don’t give me that look. Is that gum in your mouth? Did you swallow it? Don’t make me use the ruler, young man. Now, you’ve been very active in class and I appreciate it, but your behavior is borderline disruptive. Maybe you don’t need to raise your hand every few minutes? And maybe you don’t need to say _whatever_ is on your mind? Here’s a five point assessment you can do before you raise your hand again: 1. Is this thing I’m about to say related in any way to the topic under discussion? It may be helpful to remind oneself what the topic is by glancing at the topic title. 2. Am I making a grounded assertion supported by facts? Or am I just talking, as you kids say, “out your ass”? It’s a coarse way to put it, but I want to put it in terms you’ll “get.” Is that “groovy”? 3. Am I dealing with specific situations as specific situations rather than exploding them and making vast and overstated generalizations? 4. Is this a meaningful response to what was just said? 5. Did I just say the same thing three posts ago? I think if you apply this filter, the worthwhile comments will make it through, and a lot of the “noise” will be quieted. ---

He’s a damn idiot. I’m not trying to invoke the “anonymous people who agree with me” thing, but it’s been a weird experience arguing with him in [that thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=614823), inasmuch as I’ve gotten two different posters PMing me thanking me for fighting the good fight. I’ve very rarely had anyone send me such a message before. Maintaining the minimal standards of civility required by GD has become increasingly difficult as he engages in the lowest sort of partisan smear-arguments. ---

Not only that, 9.1% of them are unemployed. _chug_ I had to put Retarded Republican on my ignore list the second or third day he posted. He was spamming the threads in Elections (still is) so much that my hand was cramping from scrolling past his multiple posts (5 or 6 in a row). It hasn’t really helped since it’s impossible for anyone to have an on topic discussion in those threads because he ends up derailing all of them. Now I give up and close the thread once I find a batch of his shrunken posts in a thread. ---

I said this in the Palin thread but the main problem is that he’s really boring. I thought maybe with the “recovering” republican part he’d have some new take or twist on something but it has been nothing but standard fox news talking points run of the mill republican apologism from him. Boring. ---

I was reading through the various threads on the Election board. I didn’t see too much wrong with his posts. They were a little repetitive, and I didn’t really agree with much off it, but there wasn’t really anything too crazy. He stresses how he’s a moderate a few times but then says stuff like universal/public education is “silly” and the abovementioned Iranian genocide and such. It makes me wonder if he has misjudged himself (maybe he’s read free republic and thinks he’s relatively sane), or maybe he actually _is_ a moderate by the standards of the republican party. ---

That’s only to be expected because they’re a product of the failed public education system and drifted into sodomy after taking it as an elective their senior year of high school. If they had gone to a fine private Catholic school like \*\*Recovering \*\*did they would have received a quality education in both sodomy and literature without any need for this union nonsense. ---

I got tired of his schtick after his third or fourth post. It was abundantly clear that his user name is a giant “FUCK YOU” to the raving liberals he perceives all around him.
