Well, I actually got this game a couple weeks ago, and only now have I gotten around to posting a thread about it. For starters…I LOVE THIS GAME. This was way better than Tiberian Sun, and a great sequel to the original Red Alert. The first weekend I bought it, I beat the Allied campaign missions. The next weekend, I beat the Soviet campaign missions. I’m still hooked, and whenever I can I play online. The Good: Great playability. A lot of strategy is involved, way more so than mass forces and attack. Each nation gets a different special unit in multiplayer. Graphics are a little simple, but who cares all that much about stunning graphics when gameplay is awesome? Internet play is fun, although a little laggy for analog modem users (like me). Don’t worry too much about getting booted from a game. If you get disconnected, you can reconnect and rejoin the game and continue as normal (Unless they all vote to drop you). The Bad: Well, first, I’m pissed that they took away the map editor, instead utilizing a random map generator. Second, skirmishes suck. In the original Red Alert, the computers would fight each other, but in this they all fight against you. It takes away a lot of single player fun. Third, and the most minor of all…what the hell is up with dolphins and giant squid? Anyways, overall great game, and like I said I’M HOOKED! Anybody else out there have this game? If you liked any of the C&C games, get this one too. If you like RTS games, get this now!
